Conference Speaker
The Conference Keynote speaker is Dr. Douglas Posey.
Dr. Douglas H. Posey—a distinguished and multifaceted medical professional with decades of experience in forensic science and pathology. Based in Houston, Dr. Posey is board-certified in Forensic, Anatomic, and Clinical Pathology, as well as in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine. He has dedicated his life to improving public health through his extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to service.
Dr. Posey’s career is marked by notable contributions across multiple roles. He is a retired Associate Medical Examiner from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations in Decatur, Georgia, and currently serves as a Senior Consultant and Partner with International Forensic Science Consultants, LLC. His prior positions include Assistant Medical Examiner at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science in Houston, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pathology at both Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas, as well as Pathologist and Medical Laboratory Director at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Dr. Posey is a prolific scholar, having published and presented numerous articles in the fields of forensic and general pathology. Beyond his academic achievements, he is a proud emeritus fellow of the College of American Pathologists, a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and a former fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Since his retirement, Dr. Posey has continued to make a significant impact, serving as Laboratory Director for various toxicology and pharmacogenomics laboratories across the country. He is also an accomplished author, having penned two compelling books: From Mississippi to Morgue and LOCKED UP: The Mass Incarceration of Young Black Men in America. His newest work, The Real CSI, is eagerly anticipated.
Dr. Posey’s extensive career and contributions to forensic science and public health exemplify his dedication to justice and the betterment of society.

Georgia CLE Credit
We will be offering State Bar of Georgia Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for members of the Bar. Attendees seeking CLE credit should notify CJAG of their State Bar of Georgia number.
Georgia POST Credit
We will be offering POST credit for certified law enforcement officers. There is no charge for the POST credit session of the conference. Once available, additional information about the POST session will be linked from here.
